Stefano Giantin, born 1977 in Udine, is living and working in the Balkans. After obtaining a university degree in International Relations in Padua, he specialized in human rights first in Rome and then at the European Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democratization in Venice and Copenhagen.

After a short working experience in the Ombudsperson Institution in Pristina, Giantin decided to work as independent freelancer and to produce human rights related video documentaries and reportages.

His first work – “A Minority Report – Kosovo Minorities Eight Years After” (52’, Italy, 2007) – entirely written, produced and shot by Giantin, analyzes the living conditions and the human rights violations perpetrated against minorities in Kosovo during the UN international administration of the province. The documentary was broadcasted in Spain and selected for several film festivals, such as Glasgow, Stanford and Mittelfest.

Giantin writes as well for several Italian newspapers and magazines.
